Ringdale enhances FollowMe for HP MFPs with fax redirection
BURGESS HILL, United Kingdom, 21st December 2006. Ringdale, the leading provider of document output management solutions, today announced a key enhancement to its FollowMe Embedded technology for Hewlett Packard multifunction printers (MFPs), allowing re-direction of inbound analogue faxes to any destination on the network. The new feature, which is unmatched in the industry, further extends the functionality and convenience of MFPs, which are becoming the output device of choice in many organizations.
The FollowMe Q-Server software allows the MFP, where the analogue faxes are received, to transfer the data to an email inbox, network folder, FTP site, document management system or any other designated location. All data is transferred encrypted until it is retrieved by the user.
Ringdale's FollowMe provides a complete access control and auditing solution for secure output management and cost allocation associated with printing and copying. Documents that are released to the server follow users to any output device via a virtualized print queue. Using almost any authentication method available, such as an ID or proximity card or biometric fingerprint reader, users can retrieve their output at any time, at any printer on the network.
This makes it very convenient for organizations with tens or hundreds of printers and MFPs, like universities or large companies, to charge back print and copy costs to a particular user, department or cost code, as well as limit printing quotas and functions, such as color printing.
FollowMe Embedded works on all HP printers and MFPs to provide support for not only printing and copying, but for all multifunction device features, including emailing, faxing and scanning. With the Embedded technology, user ID authentication is available via an on-screen keypad (PIN).
“Organizations today face a growing need to consolidate applications which affect their business processes to drive down costs,” says Tony Edwards, Ringdale's Vice President of Sales. “By further integrating activities, FollowMe Embedded provides even more connectivity than ever before. It is a prime example of why our document output management solution coupled with HP’s state-of-the-art printing and imaging technology offers the perfect office device.”
